Laboratory for Computational Physiology • Institute of Medical Engineering & Science • Massachusetts Institute of Technology
I am Michael Scanlan, I currently work at the Laboratory for Computational Physiology at MIT. I hold a B.S in Economics from Bridgewater State University concentrating in econometrics.
Currently, my role at LCP is multi-disciplinary. I handle the majority of administrative work for the lab (ordering/purchasing, finance, human resources, etc.), as well as contributing to UX improvements for both PhysioNet and Critical Data websites. I currently manage the credentialing process for PhysioNet, where I approve and review applications for data access.
Projects
PhysioNet
I created the CITI Course instructions page for PhysioNet. This page lays out the procedure for applicants interested in becoming credentialed with our database. PhysioNet maintains a large collection of medical databases from institutions all around the world.
Critical Data
Helped build the overall layout and format for the Critical Data website. Critical Data is a subsidary of LCP that focuses on machine learning and data science in healthcare. The mission of this site was to be the central location for all information regarding the group.
